Google has announced that it is using a combination of key-word
automated diligence and hands-on ad review in an attempt to
curtail the ability of counterfeiters to present their banner ads
to those searching for low-price brand goods.
This is good news. First of all, Google has a strong record of
putting ethics before profit motive. Secondly, like Collectors
Proof, these measures hit

We Collectors Proofers like to keep each other informed on as
much collectible information as possible. I'm frequently
amazed at the variety of collectibles we post. That said, some of
the items in the list below still surprised me.
Look at the some of the more popular "things" on the list
especially... numbers 3-5. I wouldn't have guessed it!
Just another example that most everything is

A counterfeit of the cancer drug Avastin was recently shipped by
a U.S. wholesaler to 36 recipients. While five have been tracked
down, the majority are still at large.
This is a particularly insidious form of counterfeiting, arguably
akin to murder. The counterfeit contains no active ingredient yet
is being used by individuals whose lives depend on it.
Furthermore, the "fillers" contained in the

Even an abbreviated NBA season has an all-star game, and the
counterfeiters have been wasting no time in contract negotiations
or collective bargaining impasses... they've been hard at work
knocking off everything NBA.
It's simple, folks... if it looks too good to be true, it
probably is. And remember: buying fake apparel is NOT a
victimless crime. Those goods are produced in horrible
conditions,

Residents of San Antonio, Texas, have, for 29 years, had the
pleasure of wading into and even purcahsing a lovingly curated
collection of dolls. Monarch Collectibles, housed in a big, blue
Dollhouse-motifed venue was the product of effort and love of
Sandra Bradley. Mrs. Bradley has decided to close down the
cultural icon to spend time with family and embark on new,
post-retirment adventures.
It's not too

Today being the sweetheart of sweetheart days, just for fun I
thought I'd check out to see if Valentines day falls victim to
counterfeiting.
To my surprise or it shouldn't be a surprise, the FBI last year
launched "Operation Broken Hearted" that shut down 18 domain
names selling knock products from some notable names.
Even Cupid can't protect himself!

Usually, when I see a list that has "of All Time" in its title, I
prepare myself for disappointment, knowing that I will disagree
with some of the entries and feel the absence of others.
Dan Tylicki, a featured columnist at BleacherReport.com, however,
NAILED this particular list. Once you start clicking through the
entries, I defy you to stop. It may well be impossible for

It is no surprise that a copy of the Mona Lisa - albeit, one that
was painted at nearly the same time and perhaps in the same
studio as was the original - is worth something. Even considering
that the copy is purposefully different - the lady with the
mysterious smile appears younger and perhaps more at ease - value
accrues to an object that has an interesting story, regardless of
the authenticity of some other
